Anthony Weston Dimock

If there's anyone whose life would put a lie to the common observation that the adventures of the Boy Scouts were too outlandish to be believed, it'd be that of Anthony Weston Dimock. He started off at a young age, made a fortune, lost it again, made another, lost that. Headed out west to live the life of an adventurer, came back to New York, and through it all, wrote a great many fiction and non-fiction adventure books for children.

He died in 1918, at the age of 76. His obit is here.
